German Potato Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 medium potatoes
1/2 lb. bacon
1 onion
1 1/4 c. water
1 1/2 c. vinegar
3 tsp. flour
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. bacon fat
1 egg
Preparation

Slice boiled potatoes in bowl.
Add onion, cut small.
Cut bacon in pan and render until bacon is brown.
Remove bacon and put in sliced potatoes.
Measure bacon grease.
Add flour and stir over heat until it bubbles.
Add water and vinegar mixed together. Stir until smooth.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add sugar. Let come to a boil, stirring constantly.
Turn off heat.
Pour over potatoes.
