Cabbage-Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. diced onion
    2 c. water
    6 oz. ham or other meat if preferred (1 full c.)
    2 c. shredded cabbage
    2 c. canned tomatoes, coarsely chopped with juice
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    10 oz. can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
Preparation
    In large saucepan sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray, saute onion until tender.
    Add water, ham, cabbage, tomatoes and pepper.
    Bring to boil; lower heat.
    Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Add beans.
    Continue simmering for 20 minutes.
