Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. thinly sliced onions
    3 Tbsp. butter
    6 c. beef or chicken broth
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    6 slices toasted French bread
    1 c. mixed grated Parmesan and Gruyere cheese
Preparation
    Saute onions until very well browned, but not scorched in butter; add chicken or beef broth and pepper.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
    The soup is now put into a casserole. Cover with toasted French bread and sprinkle with cheese.
    Heat in a 275\u00b0 oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
