Peas And New Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. peas
    2 Tbsp. bacon grease
    pinch of salt
    6 to 8 new potatoes
    3 to 4 c. water
Preparation
    Pull strings from peas.
    Place in a 6-quart kettle. Cover with water. Cook while you are cleaning the potatoes.
    Use a brush and brush off all loose peelings.
    Place on top of peas. Add bacon grease and cook until peas are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, on medium heat about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
