Sausage Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. sausage
    2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking powder (optional)
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook sausage and crumble.
    Drain off excess grease and place in the bottom of a greased baking pan.
    Mix remaining ingredients together well.
    Pour over sausage and bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
