Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs, separated
    3/4 c. coconut
    9-inch baked pie shell
    5 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix sugar, salt, cornstarch, flour and milk.
    Cook until it begins to thicken.
    Beat 3 egg yolks; add 1 cup of the hot mixture and stir thoroughly.
    Add back to the rest of the hot mixture and cook, stirring all the time until it thickens.
    Remove from heat; add 3/4 cup coconut and 1 tablespoon butter.
    Stir and pour into a 9-inch baked pie crust.
    Beat 3 egg whites; add 5 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Spread on top of pie and brown in a 400\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
