Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
5 Tbsp. flour
2 1/4 c. milk, scalded
2 egg yolks
3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 pie shell, freshly baked
Preparation

Blend sugar and flour thoroughly.
Add scalded milk gradually, stirring constantly to obtain a smooth paste.
Add well beaten egg yolks and cook in a double boiler for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add butter and vanilla.
Mix well and pour into the pie shell.
Add meringue and brown.
