Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. salt and pepper
    1 head cabbage
    2 c. American cheese
    1 1/2 c. sour cream
    1 c. buttered bread crumbs, toasted
Preparation
    Brown onion in butter. Add ground beef and brown. Cut cabbage into 1-inch squares. Add to beef mixture. Cook, covered, slowly until tender (about 10 minutes). Add sour cream and cheese. Mix thoroughly.
    Pour into a casserole dish. Top with buttered toasted bread. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
