Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
4 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
4 egg yolk beaten, save whites
2 c. milk
pinch of salt
Preparation

Mix. Heat and stir until thickened on medium heat.
Remove from stove and 2 Tbsp. butter plus 1 tsp. vanilla.
Cool and pour into baked pie shell.
Top with meringue of 4 egg whites beaten until stiff and forms peak.
Add 8 Tbsp. sugar, 1 Tbsp. at a time and continue to beat.
Add pinch of salt, and 1 tsp. vanilla and stir.
Spread on top of butterscotch filling.
Bake 350\u00b0 until meringue is golden brown.
