"Ma" Esther'S Hermit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    1 lb. butter
    4 pkg. dates (7 1/4 oz. size)
    3/4 lb. shelled English walnuts
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. vanilla
    juice of 1 lemon
    4 c. flour
    brandy
Preparation
    Cream
    butter and sugar.
    Add beaten eggs
    first,
    then add vanilla, lemon juice and cinnamon. Sift flour into a large pan and cut dates into the flour. Add batter to floured dates. Add\tnuts and
    mix well.
    Bake in a lightly greased
    tube
    or Bundt pan for 2 to 2 1/4 hours at 250\u00b0.
    Test with a straw.
