English Toffee(Microwave) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
2 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/3 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup and water in 2-quart glass mixing 'n pour bowl.
Microwave on High, uncovered, for 4 minutes. Stir.
Microwave on High uncovered for 6 to 8 minutes until 300\u00b0 is reached.
(I find it takes longer), stirring and checking temperature during last few minutes.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour onto ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Sprinkle with chocolate pieces.
Let stand until chocolate is softened; spread over toffee.
Sprinkle with nuts, pressing them into chocolate.
Refrigerate to set chocolate.
