Waldorf Red Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
2 1/4 c. cake flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vinegar
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar and eggs.
Cream.
Make paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add to creamed mixture.
Add butter and salt with flour.
Add vanilla.
Fold in soda and vinegar.
Bake on medium speed about 2 minutes.
Bake in two 9-inch pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Cool.
Split layers, if desired and ice.
