Country Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
3 c. chopped tart apples

Preparation

Sift together sugar, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Cut in shortening.
Add milk, eggs and apples and blend well.
Spread into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
