Appletts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. thick applesauce (unsweetened)
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
    2 envelopes Knox gelatine
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine gelatine with 1/4 cup applesauce.
    Let set 5 minutes. Combine all ingredients, except nuts.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Add gelatine.
    Boil 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add walnuts just before removing from heat.
    Pour into 8 x 10-inch pan that has been buttered and dusted with powdered sugar.
    Let stand until firm.
    Cut into squares and shake in sack of powdered sugar to coat.
