Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. corn meal (yellow)
    1 c. flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Mix together the first 5 ingredients.
    Mix in the milk, egg and melted shortening.
    Spoon into shallow pan (8-inch square). Bake for 20 minutes, until lightly browned and all edges let go. Set oven at 425\u00b0.
