Low-Fat Pintos - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry pinto beans
    6 c. water
    salt to taste
    1 can chicken broth
    2/3 c. mild picante sauce
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, cut into fourths
Preparation
    Slice onions and separate in rings.
    Soak in sweet milk for 1 hour or overnight, if you like.
    Make batter of Aunt Jemima pancake mix, as it says on box.
    Have the batter pretty thick. Dip onion rings one at a time in the batter and drop in hot deep fry grease.
    Drain on paper towels.
