Ham And Cheese Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. potatoes
    1/2 c. water
    dash of salt
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    dash of pepper
    4 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. ham, cooked and diced
    6 oz. (1 1/2 c.) Cheddar cheese, shredded
    croutons (optional)
Preparation
    Peel and cube potatoes.
    Place water and salt in a small saucepan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add potatoes and reduce heat.
    Cook 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
    Drain potatoes, reserving 1 cup of liquid.
