Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
3 extra large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Cream together first 3 ingredients; add eggs one at a time, beating until mixture is consistency of whipped cream.
Add vanilla.
Add remaining dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Fold in water. Grease and dust with cocoa a tube pan.
Pour batter into pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Cool and drizzle warm frosting over cake.
