Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. medium cucumbers
    2 gal. cold water
    2 c. lime
    2 qt. vinegar
    4 1/2 lb. or 8 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1 tsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers.
    Cover with lime and water solution (might have to add water to make it cover).
    Soak 24 hours.
    Rinse well. Cover with fresh cold water.
    Soak 3 hours longer.
    (This removes the excess lime.)
    Drain.
    Cover with vinegar, sugar and spices. Soak overnight.
    Be sure cucumbers are covered.
    In morning put on stove and boil until clear.
    Pack and seal.
    These stay crisp.
    Can add green food coloring.
