Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
    1 small red onion, sliced thin
    1 pkg. frozen peas
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. shredded Cheddar
    8 slices bacon, crumbled or Bac*Os
Preparation
    In 9 x 13-inch pan, layer the ingredients in the order they appear in the list.
    Cover with foil.
    Let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours.
    Toss lightly before serving.
