Ingredients

1 c. lard and butter
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. potato water
2 yeast cakes
1 c. milk
flour (to stiffen)
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Scald milk, then put in mashed potatoes and potato water.
Put potatoes through ricer, then eggs and sugar, then yeast and flour to stiffen.
Knead, then put in greased pan until doubled.
Roll out and cut.
Put on floured cloth and cover.
Let rise until doubled.
Fry in deep fat until golden brown.
