Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. corn syrup
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, dry ingredients, water and syrup mixing well. Add nuts, then pour into well greased pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Raisins may be used instead of nuts.
