English Muffin Loaves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. flour
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. water
    corn meal
Preparation
    Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0).
    Add to dry mixture; beat well.
    Stir in enough additional flour to make a stiff batter.
    Spoon into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch pans that have been greased and sprinkled with corn meal.
    Cover; let rise in warm area for 45 minutes.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Remove from pans immediately and cool.
    Recipe yields 2 loaves, 16 slices per loaf.
    To serve, slice and toast.
