Grapefruit Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    3 whole cloves
    3 whole allspice
    1 can frozen grapefruit juice
    1 bottle ginger ale
    green food coloring
    1 lemon, sliced
    6 maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water, cloves and allspice.
    Heat to boiling and simmer 5 minutes.
    Strain into pitcher and cool.
    Stir in juice, ginger ale and food coloring.
    Pour over ice cubes and garnish with lemon and cherries.
