Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix
    5 c. milk
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
    2 cans cherry pie filling
    1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    maraschino cherries for garnish
Preparation
    Bake cake according to package directions in 2 (9-inch) cake pans; cool.
    Crumble one layer of cake into bottom of a large punch bowl.
    Combine one package of pudding mix and 2 1/2 cups milk and pour over cake immediately.
    Spread half of pineapple over pudding.
    Spread 1 can of cherry pie filling over pineapple and spread half of Cool Whip over pie filling.
    Repeat layers. Sprinkle with pecans.
    Garnish with cherries.
