Grandmother'S Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 tomatoes, peeled
    4 chopped onions
    4 chopped green peppers
    1 Tbsp. canning salt
    3 c. cider vinegar
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Briefly boil tomatoes to loosen skins.
    Peel and allow to cool.
    In large saucepan, combine vinegar, sugar, salt, cinnamon, pepper and cloves.
    Bring to slow boil, stirring often.
    Add tomatoes, peppers and onions.
    Simmer at a low boil until mixture thickens.
    Pour into sterilized pint canning jars.
    Adjust lids and process for 15 minutes in water bath.
    Thickening may take 2 hours.
