Fruit Cake(Makes One Loaf Cake And Tube Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. seedless raisins
    2 c. hot water
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. cold coffee or water
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. candied mixed fruit
Preparation
    Combine raisins and hot water in saucepan.
    Bring to boil, simmering 15 minutes; cool.
    Measure and sift together dry ingredients.
    Beat shortening until soft.
    Add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with coffee or water.
    Add cooled raisins and juice plus walnuts and candied mixed fruit.
    Grease well and line bottom of tube pan, bottom and sides of loaf pan with waxed paper.
    Bake at 325\u00b0; loaf pan for 70 minutes; tube pan for 90 minutes.
    When cool, garnish with candied cherries and pineapple.
