Yellow Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced squash
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. turmeric
    8 to 10 onions
    1 gal. ice water
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    In a large pot, let mixture of all ingredients, except squash, come to a boil.
    Add squash and boil 5 minutes.
    Seal in jars. Boil in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
