Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked 8-inch pie shell
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 egg whites (for meringue)
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients in heavy saucepan.
    Add milk gradually, stirring until smooth.
    Cook, stirring until thickened. Stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks.
    Then put quickly into remaining mixture in saucepan and cook 2 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Top with meringue and bake until meringue is brown.
