Crunchy Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. shreds of wheat bran cereal
    1 c. hot milk
    1 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour *
    1/3 c. packed brown sugar
    1/3 c. margarine or butter, softened
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    Crunchy Topping (recipe follows)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease bottoms only of 12 medium 2 1/2 x 1 1/4-inch muffin cups.
