1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
3/4 to 1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. nuts
Preparation

In a 13 x 9-inch pan, put brown sugar and water and let come to a boil.
Mix sugar, flour, milk, baking powder, salt and vanilla, then add dates and nuts.
The trick is to add pudding to hot syrup without disturbing syrup much.
Spoon evenly into syrup.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
May need to adjust time if oven is not accurate.
