Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. oil
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    juice of 1/2 lemon
    3 c. flour
    1 1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. peeled and chopped fresh apples
    1/2 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Mix sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, salt and lemon juice; beat well. Sift flour, soda and spices. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and beat. Add fruit and nuts; mix well. Bake in a 10-inch stem pan which has been greased and floured. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours. A Bundt pan is ideal. This cake freezes well.
