German Style Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 bacon slices, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
    1 c. chopped onion
    3/4 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    5 to 6 c. cooked, sliced potatoes (about 6 to 7 medium potatoes)
Preparation
    Fry bacon pieces.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Remove all but 1/4 cup bacon grease from skillet.
    To grease, add onion, vinegar, sugar and pepper.
    Cook over low heat, uncovered, until mixture simmers.
    Pour over potato slices in bowl and toss gently to combine.
    Season to taste with salt.
    Garnish with bacon.
