Jelly Corn Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    jelly
Preparation
    Mix cornmeal, flour, salt and baking powder.
    Add milk gradually.
    Add beaten egg and melted shortening.
    Fill greased muffin pans 1/4 full.
    Put a teaspoon of jelly on top of the batter.
    Cover with more batter and bake at 400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
