Meatless Mincemeat - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck green tomatoes
    2 lb. raisins
    1 lb. oleo
    2 Tbsp. nutmeg
    2 1/2 lb. sugar
    6 c. chopped apples
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Chop tomatoes.
    Cover with cold water and boil 5 minutes. Drain well.
    Add other ingredients.
    Return to fire and cook 30 to 40 minutes.
    At last, cook slowly and stir (it might stick).
    Can in pint jars and seal.
    Makes good fried pies.
    Serves 6.
