Old Fashion Stuffed Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked rice, cooked according to pkg.
    8 strips bacon
    1 large onion
    dash of pepper
    1 medium cabbage (about 3 lb.)
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup with 1 can water
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cut off bottom of cabbage, about 1 inch, and remove entire core.
    Remove any damaged leaves, rinse and place whole head into salted boiling water.
    Allow to return to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat; let stand 25 minutes.
    Drain.
    Allow to cool sufficiently for handling.
