Banana Nut Chiffon Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. very finely chopped walnuts
1/2 c. oil
7 eggs, separated
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas (about 3 medium)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
-
Sift
flour,
sugar,
baking
powder,
salt and walnuts until well
blended.
Make
a
well
in
center; add oil, egg yolks, bananas and vanilla.
Beat with a wooden spoon until a smooth batter forms.
Beat egg whites, gradually adding cream of
tartar until
firm
peaks\tform.
Gently fold whites into batter.\tTurn into
ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for
55
minutes, or until a pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool cake in pan inverted on rack.
With a sharp knife gently
loosen
cake from
sides,
then bottom of pan.
Cover cake; let stand several hours for flavor to develop.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with powdered sugar glaze.
