24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    3 grated carrots
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 purple onion, sliced thin
    1 pkg. frozen peas (leave frozen)
    12 oz. grated cheese
    1 lb. bacon, fried crisp, cooled and crumbled
    2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer (do not mix) the lettuce, celery, carrots, green pepper, purple onion, peas and cheese.
    Fry bacon crisp; cool and crumble. Add to top of salad.
    Spread mayo over salad, then sprinkle sugar over Hellmann's mayonnaise.
    Cover and leave 24 hours in refrigerator.
    Toss and serve.
