Jewish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

4 medium apples
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. oil (trifle more)
3 c. flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Grease and flour a 9-inch tube pan.
Peel, quarter, core and slice apples.
Mix together the 4 tablespoons sugar with the 2 teaspoons cinnamon; set aside.
Beat eggs; add 2 cups sugar and beat in oil.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add with orange juice.
Add vanilla.
Layer batter, apples, cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Repeat.
End with batter on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes or until tested done (it usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes longer).
