Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. chopped celery
    4 hard-boiled eggs
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1 medium onion, sliced thin
    8 slices bacon
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 to 4 oz. grated cheese
Preparation
    Fry bacon crisp and crumble.
    Heat peas.
    Tear lettuce into bite size pieces and place in bowl or 9 x 12-inch dish.
    Layer the next 6 ingredients in order given.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar; spread over top of layered salad.
    Top with cheese.
    Refrigerate 8 to 12 hours.
    Serves 10.
