Sweet Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. white granulated sugar
    1/2 c. powdered cocoa
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, separated (reserve whites)
    1 c. evaporated milk (unsweetened)
    1 c. cold water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt. Add just enough milk to make a paste; mix well. Add yolks; beat and mix well. Add the remaining milk and water. Cook over medium-low heat; stir constantly until thickened to prevent lumping and burning. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into baked pie crust shell and spread evenly. Top with meringue; lightly brown. Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
