Lady Baltimore Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. milk
3 c. sifted cake flour
2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond extract
6 egg whites
1 c. chopped raisins or currants
1 c. chopped dried figs
1 c. chopped almonds or walnuts
1/2 c. sherry or brandy
Preparation

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Combine water and milk; set aside. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
