Crisscross Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 (15 oz.) tomato sauce
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. Minute rice
    5 slices American cheese
Preparation
    Brown ground beef and onion.
    Drain.
    Add seasonings and other ingredients.
    Boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer.
    Place in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Place narrow slices of American cheese on top in a crisscross fashion.
    Place in 350\u00b0 oven until cheese melts.
