Fresh Orange Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. grated orange rind
    1/4 c. unstrained orange juice
    3/4 c. water or milk
    1/3 to 1/2 c. unbeaten eggs (2 to 3)
Preparation
    Sift together the first 5 ingredients into bowl.
    Add the shortening and orange rind.
    Measure the orange juice and water or milk into a liquid measuring cup.
    Add 2/3 of this liquid to dry ingredients.
    Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
    Add remaining liquid and the unbeaten eggs.
    Beat 2 more minutes.
    Bake in two 8 x 1 1/2-inch greased and floured pans at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes, or until done.
