Swiss Crisps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    3/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
    shortening or vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
    Beat egg with 1 tablespoon of the bread crumbs in a small bowl. Place remaining bread crumbs in a pie plate.
    Dip cheese cubes into egg mixture, then into bread crumbs to coat well.
    Melt enough shortening or pour in vegetable oil to make a 3-inch depth in large saucepan or electric fryer; heat to 380\u00b0.
