Cheesy Squash Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium squash, sliced
    2 eggs, beaten
    3/4 c. self-rising corn meal
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 minced onion (green)
    1 c. Monterey Jack cheese, grated
    vegetable oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Cook squash until tender; drain well.
    Mash and drain again. Combine eggs and squash; mix well.
    Combine corn meal, flour, onion and cheese in a bowl.
    Toss to mix.
