Sourdough Steak(Chuckwagon Grub) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1-inch thick round steak (about 3 lb.)
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. onion salt
    2 tsp. paprika
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. Sourdough Starter or 1 c. plain yogurt
    3/4 c. lard or shortening
Preparation
    Using meat tenderizing mallet, pound steak to one-half inch thick.
    Cut into serving size pieces.
    Combine flour and seasonings.
    Dip pounded steak in sourdough starter, then in flour mixture.
    Fry in 1 inch of hot lard in heavy skillet.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
