Brown Onion Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large onions
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. water
    3 c. beef broth
Preparation
    Fry the onions in butter and a dash of sugar to a nice brown; thicken a little with flour and add enough strong beef broth to make a thick sauce.
    Season with cayenne or black pepper and rub through a sieve.
