Bananas Foster - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick unsalted butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. dark rum
    3 to 4 bananas
    vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a sauce or frypan.
    Add the brown sugar. Stir to dissolve.
    Add the rum.
    Cook a few minutes to make a syrup.
    Peel the bananas; cut in half lengthwise and quarter.
    Add bananas to syrup and poach until soft.
    Serve over ice cream.
