Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. corn meal
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients, then add liquids.
Grease an 8-inch square pan or muffin pan and bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
